Download Microsoft Office 2010 Beta

Good news! After successful launch of Windows 7, the first public beta of Microsoft Office 2010 is now available as a free download on Microsoft website.

The Office installer size is around 700 MB in size but you need around 2.5 GB of free space on your hard drive for the installation. Also note that, the beta version of Office 2010 will expire in October 2010. Initially only Professional Plus edition is available for download but they are giving it with product keys which is needed to activate this product.

Insecure IT companies in India

There are so many big IT companies in India. But have you even wondered which are insecured from employee's point of view. We are seeing that some IT companies are firing their employees due to bad performance or even because of recession. Here we will see which IT companies are insecure for employment and growth point of view.

Insecure IT companies:-

• IBM :- Right now this is the most firing company for Its employees. In the last 6 months, this company has fired nearly 20% of their employees because of Back ground check issues and performance issues. This is the most insecure company from an IT professional's point of view. They don't have any strategic plans for HR policies regarding employee security. No appraisals (maximum 10%).
• Accenture:- This is the second top most firing company. The firing rate is around 5%. This company depends upon outsourced projects; they have a unique system where Accenture development centers around the world bid for a project coming into the company. Currently Philippines centre is taking the cake and the Indian centers are in a firing mode.
  
• TCS:- Some years back it was an government IT Company . Now a days Its becoming firing IT company. Recently they fired on 500 people( the people below 2 years of experience) and TCS lost so many projects recently ( especially British Telecoms Project).
• Wipro:- company fires people with very frequent back ground checks and firing them with out even experience letters and relieving letters (will mention as terminated from services)but will promise the employees that they will retain them. After the project is over they will fire away.
• Intel:- Recently joined the league. Running in heavy losses, hence firing 3000 employees in the Bangalore center in a phased out manner.
• CTS:- Has a steady firing policy (checking the Educational background and previous employment and also employee performance).

Finally Windows 7, new operating system from Microsoft arrived in international market. If you have been holding off buying a new computer, then Windows 7, the latest operating system from Microsoft, will give you a good excuse to buy one. Windows 7 is largely believed to be better than Microsoft's previous OS Windows Vista and Windows XP. But is it really all that?
First impressions:- It has completely new design and swanky features and we have to admit that it's more stable and did not crash out even once. It takes a little over 30 minutes to install on the PC where as Windows Vista takes over 1hour. Windows 7's minimum hardware requirements are roughly similar to those of Vista Home Basics -- both require a 1 GHz processor and 15GB of hard-drive space, although Windows 7 demands a minimum of 1GB memory, while Vista Home Basics needs 512MB memory.
Why is it better than Windows Vista:- Unlike Vista, the re-designed user interface of Windows 7 gives the user intuitive shortcuts like ability to maximize a window by dragging it to the top of the screen, minimize it by dragging it to the bottom, maximize to half the screen by dragging it to either edge, or (our favorite) minimizing all opened windows by shaking the one you want to focus on. The taskbar, in addition to showing the applications being used by the user, also hosts shortcuts to the most commonly used applications (say Word or Media Player). When the mouse pointer is moved over the taskbar shortcuts, the user can preview the application. Windows 7 delivers a completely revamped user interface and some brand-new features designed to make organising and sharing your files easier. Simply put, the user gets much more than new wallpaper and a different colour taskbar.
