Who is Orkut?

A normal guy lost his lovely girlfriend in a train accident. But that girl's name nowhere appeared in the dead person's list. This guy grew up and became an IT professional in his early 20's. After initial couple of years, he started working with Google in 2002. Later he developed Orkut.com as his independent project and to find his lost girlfriend. He worked very hard to make it real and user friendly. This effort from this young dynamic engineer made orkut successful in no time and he also found his girlfriend .It was a time to shut down the search operation and this project , then the CEO of Google had a long discussion with this guy and took over this application. This Software made a whopping 1 billion dollars profit in its first year, which today we know as ORKUT- world popular social networking site. The guy's name is Orkut Büyükkökten. Yes you got it right, It's named after him only. 

Orkut Büyükkökten, born on Feb 6, 1975 in Konya, Turkey is a software engineer. He holds a BSC degree in computer Engineering and Information Science and later earned PH.D. in computer science from Stanford university. He is the man who created Orkut, the largest and biggest social networking site.Today he is paid a hefty sum by Google for the things we do like scrapping. He is expected to be the richest person by end of 2009. Orkut Büyükkökten today has 13 assistants to monitor his scrapbook & 8 assistants to monitor his friends-list. He gets around 20,000 friend-requests a day & about 85,000 scraps.
