Karma & its Fruit

Author:- Dilip Rajaram
Here I am sharing with you one of my experiences with the white light. Actually these are very simple events of life. There is absolutely nothing miraculous about them. Further, the experience being totally subjective it may appeal to someone or it may not appeal to many others.  Even then I am sharing with you.

One day I was wandering on the busiest street of the city making some purchases. I saw a Blind man, walking all alone on the foot path, waving his white stick in front of him in semi circle. Blind man missed the foot path and took one or two steps on the main road. A fast moving motorcyclist was about to dash him, instead he hit only the white stick of the Blind man with a loud thud. Because of the impact however the Blind man fell to his backside as if someone has made him to sit on the edge of the foot path. He was thoroughly shaken. I took pity on him. I went forward. With my both hands I held the left hand of the blind man, bellow the armpit and made him stand on the foot path. I enquired where he wanted to go. He told me his residential address and also told me that he had missed his usual escort somewhere on the way. I knew the area well and there was much spare time with me. I therefore said ‘It was alright’ and then of my own I escorted the blind man to his residence within some 20 minutes. This being a very small incidence I completely forgot it within ensuing 2-3 days.

Six months latter I went to Himalayas to visit Amarnath Shrine which is at a height of 13000 ft. The actual climb is stretched over some 20 kms through the rugged mountain paths. Frequent landslides, extreme cold temperature, intermittent rain or snow fall are the usual impediments. I did climb up to the Shrine on foot within some eight hours but after that I found there was pain in my ankles. Being of young age (this was during 1988) I completely ignored it. Next day when climbing down the mountains all my relatives and co-travelers chose to ride on horseback except myself and within 10-20 minutes they vanished from my sight. After treading the path through snow; cold water streams; nearly for 3 hours I found that pain in my knees was increasing and my feet had become stiff, something like a log. By the time I reached one of the slopes of a hill I found that I was barely able to stand or walk. At that time not a single person was within my sight. I, therefore, sat down and started sliding down the slope inch by inch. The slope however became more and more steep and it had become very slippery. Then I saw a very deep valley before me and I completely lost my confidence. I became afraid that I was bound to stumble down the mountain and then not a trace of my body would be found. I thought my time had come. By the very notion of death I started trembling. I could not move any further. Thought also came in to my mind what would happen to my wife and children if I die then and there. So I vehemently started praying God to take me out of the situation and save my life. When the mind was in such turmoil suddenly the white circular light appeared before me. It had a message.

“Scripture says that in this world Karma is reciprocated and it is reciprocated with exactitude. You were always skeptical about this. Were not you? Do you remember that six months back you spared twenty minutes of your life and escorted a blind man to his residence of your own? The fruit of that Karma is now forthcoming. Watch yourself”

After a while a very strong and stout person, in full Military uniform appeared from behind. He observed my conditions, particularly my facial expressions for a moment and then came forward. With his both hands he held my left hand below the armpit and made me stand on the slope and enquired what the matter was. I told him that there was severe pain in my knees and I was barely able to stand or walk. I also told him that all my relatives had gone further on horseback. He said, ‘it was alright’ and then of his own; with a skill of mountaineer; he slowly and safely escorted me to the planes down below, within some 20 minutes. Those 20 minutes I remained completely speechless and in great awe.

Orkut introducted new feature- Private Scraps

Yesterday Orkut introduces a new and much awaited feature "Private Scraps”. In the past everybody can read your scraps but now when you will send scraps to someone you can decide whether you want others to see that scrap or you just want to restrict it to the person you sent the scrap.
Today when I opened my Orkut account and I got surprised when I see a message board from orkut which was saying that From now on, all scraps you send to your friends will also show up in your profile. Want to keep something in secret? Just send a private scrap. I am happy to see this option as I wanted this feature on Orkut from so long.

According to Official Orkut Blog, “We take privacy very seriously on orkut, and we want to make it really easy for everyone. That’s why we’re also launching private scraps, so you don’t have to use testimonials for private messages anymore. To keep something secret, just send a private scrap to your friends, and just those people selected will see it. Yep, just them! Recipients can also reply, creating a completely private conversation.”
